Karate age appropriate specialised training

Our specialised training programmes are targeted to specific ages groups and their ability to learn age appropriate skills.

Little Tigers – 4 to 7 years

The Little Tigers classes are specifically designed to develop a student’s strengths and behaviours. This covers overall body strength, balance, co-ordination, flexibility, agility, focus, attitude, listing skills, good manners (dojo etiquette), awareness of others and social skills (interacting with others) to name just a few. We build on all of these areas with exercises that are fun, interactive and challenging to every student.

Juniors – 8 to 11 years

The Junior classes are designed to develop a student’s strengths like the Little Tigers. Covering overall body strength, balance, co-ordination, flexibility, agility, focus, attitude, listing skills, good manners (dojo etiquette), awareness of others and social skills (interacting with others). Where these classes differ from Little Tigers is that the student is required to think a lot more about everything they are required to do. There is usually quite a noticeable skill increase in the student. This in turn causes our expectations of the student to increase.

The exercises in this class are fun, interactive and challenging too, but there is greater focus on working with others, listing and focusing, being open minded and aware of others and your surroundings. Smart thinking, learning to be a leader and a follower when required, and applying ‘common sense’, are also taught.

Seniors or Adults – 12 years and over

The Senior classes are again designed to develop the student’s strengths. They cover overall body strength, balance, co-ordination, flexibility, agility, focus, attitude, listening skills, good manners (dojo etiquette), awareness of others and social skills (interacting with others).

The student is required to think a lot more about everything they are required to do. There is usually quite a noticeable skill increase in the adult student as they tend to learn a more quickly than the juniors.

These classes cover the more serious applications of techniques, scenarios, pressure points, role modelling, personal standards, ethics, smart thinking, and much more challenging exercises depending on the individual.
